AS LG Chem 82TR

AS LG Chem 82TR

Product Introduction AS LG Chem 82TR is a high‑transparency, high‑flow acrylonitrile‑styrene copolymer (SAN) resin. It features good rigidity, heat resistance, chemical resistance and excellent processability.

Main Applications

Daily‑use Articles & Food Containers: Refrigerator internal fruit‑vegetable boxes, food containers, food boxes, tableware such as food‑grade cutlery, cosmetic packaging, pen housings e.g. ball‑point pen shells, lighter housings, trash bins, toothbrush handles, etc. Its transparency and potential food‑contact compliance (subject to specific certification) make it well‑suited for these applications.

Electronic, Electrical & Household‑Appliance Components: TV bases, cassette cases, electrical sockets, housings, transparent panels for electrical products, turntable covers, electric‑fan blades, storage‑battery enclosures, junction boxes, cold‑water reservoirs for coffee makers, etc. Favorable electrical insulation performance and mechanical strength meet component requirements.

Automotive Industry: Used for manufacturing automotive parts.

General Industrial Components: Instrument casings, dashboards, battery boxes, toys, lighting fixtures such as head‑lamp housings and reflectors. High transparency and good moldability fit various industrial scenarios.

Injection‑Molding Parameters

Process Parameter Reference Range Remarks & Instructions
Drying Treatment 80.0‑90.0 °C, 2.0‑4.0 hours AS resin is hygroscopic. Sufficient drying is required (moisture content below 0.1% recommended), otherwise silver streaks and bubbles may occur on molded‑part surfaces.
Barrel Temperature Rear zone:170‑190℃ (reference)
Middle zone:180‑200℃ (reference)
Front zone:190‑210℃ (reference)
Nozzle:190‑220℃ (reference)
Melt Processing Temperature 190‑230 °C
Mold Temperature 40.0‑80.0℃ 50‑60°C for high‑precision molded parts; 60‑80°C for high‑gloss and heat‑resistant parts.
Injection Pressure Adjust according to flow length and product structure AS exhibits slightly lower flowability than PS, hence relatively higher injection pressure is required.
Holding Pressure Approx.30%‑60% of injection pressure Optimize according to wall thickness and product structure to reduce internal stress and shrinkage.
Injection Speed High‑speed injection Delivers good surface gloss, color performance and minimizes weld‑lines.
Back Pressure Moderate back‑pressure Ensures uniform plasticization and degassing. Insufficient back‑pressure may trap air and cause internal defects in molded articles.
Screw Speed Adjust to ensure uniform plasticization only
