Product Introduction AS Chi Mei Taiwan PN‑117L200 resin is a high‑transparency, high‑rigidity acrylonitrile‑styrene copolymer (AS/SAN). It features good mechanical strength, chemical resistance and excellent processability, and is certified for food‑contact applications.

Main Applications

Food Packaging & Containers: Food containers, lunch boxes, tableware including food‑grade cutlery, cups and refrigerator vegetable‑fruit boxes. High transparency together with compliance with food‑contact standards such as EU 10/2011 and Chinese GB standards make it well‑suited for these uses.

Daily‑use & Consumer Goods: Cosmetic cases & cosmetic packaging, toothbrush handles, pen barrels and toys.

Electronic & Electrical Components: Electrical sockets, housings, instrument casings, dashboards, battery boxes, storage‑battery enclosures, junction boxes, TV bases and cassette cases. Reliable electrical insulation and mechanical strength satisfy component requirements.

Automotive Industry: Automotive parts including head‑lamp housings, rear‑view mirror housings and instrument panels.

Injection‑Molding Parameters

Process Parameter Reference Range Remarks & Instructions
Drying Treatment 75‑80°C, 2‑4 hours AS resin is hygroscopic (equilibrium water absorption:0.66%). Sufficient drying is required (moisture content below 0.1% recommended), otherwise silver streaks and bubbles may occur on finished‑part surfaces.
Barrel Temperature 170‑210°C or 200‑250°C Slightly lower temperature for thick‑wall articles. Avoid material degradation and long‑term residence of molten material inside high‑temperature barrel.
Mold Temperature 40‑60°C or 40‑80°C 50‑60°C for high‑precision parts; 60‑80°C for high‑gloss and high‑heat‑resistance requirements. Mold temperature directly affects appearance, shrinkage and warpage.
Injection Pressure 350‑1300 bar Adjust according to flow length and product structure. AS has slightly lower flowability than PS, so relatively higher injection pressure is needed.
Holding Pressure 40‑60 kg/cm² Optimize according to wall thickness and structure to reduce internal stress and shrinkage.
