Product Introduction EVA Mitsui Polymer 40W is a high‑performance hot‑melt‑grade ethylene‑vinyl‑acetate copolymer plastic with high VA content. It is applied in multiple fields thanks to its excellent softness, adhesion property and processability.
Main Applications
Hot‑melt Adhesives: Its core application field. Used for manufacturing elastomer‑based hot‑melt adhesives and hot‑melt pressure‑sensitive adhesives. It is widely used in book perfect‑binding, packaging, furniture edge‑banding, assembly of automobiles and household appliances, and shoemaking. Featuring solvent‑free property, environmental‑friendliness and fast curing, it is suitable for automated production lines.
Coatings and Inks: Serves as coatings for wood, metals, metal foils, paper and films, as well as a component for solvent‑based and wax‑based inks to deliver good adhesion and film‑forming performance.
Wire and Cable: Suitable for wire and cable sheath materials, especially for occasions requiring flexibility and specific chemical resistance.
Packaging Materials: Used as laminating adhesives for various substrates including plastics and films, as well as heat‑seal coatings for backing cards of blister packages.
Other Modification Applications: Can be used as modifier for asphalt pavement repair materials, caulks and sealants, traffic paints and nitrocellulose‑based wood sealants to improve low‑temperature flexibility, strength and bonding performance.

Processing Technology
Extrusion Molding Used for manufacturing wire‑cable sheaths, films, sheets and other products.
Reference extruder temperature setting: ‑Cylinder Zone 1: 160 °C ‑Cylinder Zone 2: 185 °C ‑Cylinder Zone 3‑5: 210 °C ‑Adapter Temperature: 235 °C ‑Die Temperature: 235 °C ‑Melt Temperature: <235 °C (strictly controlled to prevent thermal degradation)
Screw design: Gradient‑type screw is recommended.
Injection Molding Used for producing specific injection‑molded articles. ‑Barrel Temperature: Recommended range 120‑180°C ‑Mold Temperature: Recommended range 20‑40°C ‑Injection Pressure: Approx.60 MPa ‑Resin Temperature: Recommended 185‑195°C
Hot‑melt Adhesive Processing 40W is mainly applied for hot‑melt adhesive production. It is usually blended with other components such as tackifying resins, waxes and antioxidants under molten state to prepare hot‑melt adhesives.
Processing temperature shall be determined according to overall formula characteristics. The temperature shall be high enough for melting and mixing all components while avoiding thermal degradation (some references indicate melt temperature can reach 230°C). The finished hot‑melt adhesives can be further processed by coating, spraying, roller coating and other methods.
