Material Introduction: PA66 BASF A3EG7 (Germany BASF) is a high‑performance 35% glass‑fiber‑reinforced PA66 engineering plastic. It delivers ultra‑high strength, ultra‑high rigidity, excellent heat resistance and dimensional stability, together with favorable electrical‑insulation performance and HB‑grade flame retardancy. Its inherent water‑absorption property will affect dimensional stability and partial performances (large performance difference between dry and conditioned state); strict drying is mandatory before processing.

Main Applications

Electronic‑electrical industry: Lamp‑holder housings, cooling fans, connectors, relay housings, electrical‑wire insulation materials and other electrical‑insulation components.

Automotive industry: Water reservoirs for automotive cooling systems, engine hoods, oil pipelines, oil reservoirs and automotive electronic components.

Mechanical parts / Industrial fittings: Mechanical components, housings, pump‑valve parts, precision structural parts, bearing cages and industrial gears.

Injection Molding Parameters

Drying Treatment Hot‑air drying at 80 ℃ for at least 4 h. Extend drying time or adopt high‑temperature vacuum drying under high‑humidity environment. Critical operation. Control moisture content ≤0.15% to avoid hydrolysis‑induced bubbles, silver streaks and mechanical‑property deterioration. Use immediately after drying or seal and keep warm properly.
Melt Temperature General range:280‑300 ℃, recommended 290 ℃. Fine‑tune according to equipment and part geometry. Avoid temperature>310 ℃ or long residence‑time to prevent material degradation.
Mold Temperature General range:80‑90 ℃, recommended 80 ℃. Higher mold temperature (90‑100 ℃) may deliver better performance. Proper mold temperature ensures good crystallinity, surface gloss and mechanical performances.
Injection Pressure 750‑1250 bar. Adjust per product & mold design. Appropriately increase pressure for glass‑fiber‑reinforced grade.
Injection Speed High‑speed injection (200 mm/s), moderately reduce speed for reinforced materials. Fast filling is beneficial; good mold venting is required to prevent scorching.
Screw Speed Avoid excessive shear heat; general PA66:30‑60 rpm.
Runner & Gate Gate bore ≥0.5*t (t = part wall thickness). Hot‑runner gate size shall be smaller than conventional runner. Minimum diameter for submarine gate:0.75 mm. Nylon solidifies rapidly; gate location and size are critical for filling.
Holding Time 10 min (thermoplastics). Depends on part wall thickness.
Shutdown Notice Turn off heating for long‑term shutdown. Clean barrel after production interruption or completion to prevent carbonization of residual PA66.
