PA12 UBE 3020U

PA12 UBE 3020U Resin

Material Introduction: PA12 UBE 3020U is a special‑grade polyamide‑12 resin developed for high‑transparency medical and optical components. It features optical‑grade transparency, medical‑grade biological inertness and gamma‑irradiation resistance.

Main Applications

Transparent medical‑device components (core application): Hemodialyzer housings, three‑way valves for infusion tubes, endoscope optical windows (resistant to sodium hypochlorite immersion).

Life‑science consumables: PCR plates, observation windows of cell‑culture dishes (UV transmission down to 280 nm).

Optical‑instrument structural parts: Lens holders for laser rangefinders, light‑guide plates for AR glasses (refractive index 1.53, Abbe number 55).

Food‑contact transparent parts: Water‑level sight windows for coffee machines, graduated tubes for baby bottles (compliant with FDA 21 CFR 177.1500).

Industrial liquid‑viewing systems: Hydraulic‑oil level tubes, chemical‑reagent flowmeters (resistant to DMSO / isopropanol).

Injection Molding Parameters

Processing Step Parameter Range Key Control Points
Drying 80 ℃ × 6 h vacuum drying Moisture content ≤0.01%, dew point ≤‑40℃.
Barrel Temperature Rear zone:190‑200 ℃ Temperature>220 ℃ causes thermal yellowing.
  Middle zone:200‑210 ℃
  Front zone / Nozzle:210‑220 ℃ Actual melt temperature ≤225 ℃.
Mold Temperature 60‑80 ℃ Mold temperature<50 ℃ leads to insufficient crystallization and reduced transparency.
Injection Speed Medium speed (40‑60% of maximum rate) High speed generates shear heat and increases haze.
Holding Pressure 20‑40% of injection pressure High pressure induces molecular orientation and higher birefringence.
Screw Design Low‑shear gradual‑type Compression ratio 1.8‑2.0, L/D=18‑20.

Extrusion Processing Parameters
