Material Introduction: PP Shanghai Petrochemical T300 is widely‑used drawing‑grade homopolymer polypropylene. It features favorable strength, abrasion resistance, impact performance, excellent chemical stability, electrical insulation and good heat resistance for diversified applications.

Main Applications

Woven products: Traditional and primary application, including woven bags, tarpaulins, FIBC bulk bags, carpet backing, strapping ropes and packaging ropes. Good tensile strength and low elongation satisfy above‑mentioned usage requirements.

Fibers & films: Applied for flat‑yarn, spinning fiber, tear‑film and other articles.

Injection‑molded products: Optimized for extrusion drawing, also available for small‑size injection‑molded parts.

Processing Parameters

Processing Item Reference Range (General PP) Special Remarks for T300
Drying Treatment Normally not required PP absorbs negligible moisture. Drying is unnecessary under proper storage. Dry at 80‑100 ℃ for 1‑2 h if material gets damp.
Barrel Temperature 180‑280℃ Homopolymer PP melting point:165‑170℃. Given relatively low MFR of T300, adopt medium‑high temperature range (200‑260℃) to ensure sufficient plasticization.
Mold Temperature 40‑80℃ Recommended:50‑60℃. Higher mold temperature improves surface gloss and dimensional stability; lower mold temperature shortens molding cycle.
Injection Pressure 70‑120 MPa Adjust based on flow length and part structure. Higher injection pressure may be required since this grade is not optimized for injection‑molding.
Injection Speed Medium speed Avoid excessive speed to prevent shear‑thermal degradation and surface appearance defects.
Holding Pressure 30%‑60% of injection pressure Sufficient holding pressure reduces shrinkage and sink marks. Avoid overly long holding time to prevent excessive internal stress.
Back Pressure 0.5‑1.0 MPa Moderate back‑pressure improves melt homogenization and venting.
Screw Speed 50‑80 rpm Adopt relatively low screw speed to avoid material degradation induced by excessive shear heat.
