Injection‑Molding Process Parameters
- Barrel temperature:160
300℃(from feed zone to nozzle),typical melt temperature 220280℃。 - Mold temperature:20~70℃. Higher mold temperature improves surface gloss and dimensional stability.
- Injection pressure:80
140 MPa(8001400 bar). Avoid over‑high pressure; higher pressure may be required for thin‑wall parts. - Holding pressure:30%‑60% of injection pressure.
- Back pressure:5
20 MPa(50200 bar). - Injection speed:high speed for thin‑wall articles; medium speed for other products.
- Screw speed:high screw speed is permitted, linear velocity up to 1.3 m/s.
- Drying treatment:pre‑drying unnecessary under good storage; dry at 80℃ for 1‑2 h under poor storage condition.
Injection‑Molding Notes (General PP characteristics)
- RP2400 is crystalline polymer with large molding shrinkage(1%‑2.5%), prone to sink mark, dent and deformation. Take consideration during mold design and process setting.
- Fast cooling rate. Runner & cooling system shall dissipate heat gently; strictly control molding temperature.
- Low melt temperature with high pressure may cause molecular orientation. Mold temperature below 50℃ leads to poor surface, bad weld‑line and flow mark; temperature above 90℃ may trigger warpage.
- Uniform wall‑thickness is required; avoid insufficient filling and sharp corner to prevent stress concentration.
