LDPE UPC NA208
LDPE UPC NA208 Resin
Material Introduction: LDPE UPC NA208 is low‑density polyethylene. Featuring high flowability, high gloss and fast‑cycle molding, it is widely used for injection‑molded articles requiring superior surface appearance.
Main Applications
Injection‑molded products: household utensils, home supplies, toys, decorative components such as Christmas lamp bases and plastic tree trunks.
Coating application: can be ground into powder for powder coating.
Film application: also applicable for packaging films, bags and shrink films according to partial references.
Performance Parameters
| Performance Category | Test Item | Test Method / Condition | Test Data / Unit | Remarks & Interpretation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic Properties | Density | ASTM D1505 / D792 | 0.918‑0.924 g/cm³ | Typical LDPE density range. |
| Melt Flow Rate (MFR) | ASTM D1238 (190°C/2.16kg) | 22.0 g/10min | Ultra‑high flow enables fast cavity filling and short molding cycle. | |
| Mechanical Properties | Tensile Yield Strength | ASTM D638 | 12.6 MPa (128 kg/cm²) | Unit conversion, general strength level for LDPE. |
| Tensile Strength at Break | ASTM D638 | 9.22 MPa (94 kg/cm²) | Unit conversion, general strength level for LDPE. | |
| Elongation at Break | ASTM D638 | 130 % | Moderate ductility performance. | |
| Hardness (Shore D) | ASTM D2240 | 53 | Certain surface scratch‑resistance. | |
| Thermal Properties | Vicat Softening Temperature | ASTM D1525 | 96.0 °C | Heat‑resistance index of material. |
| Brittle Temperature | ASTM D746 | ‑60.0 °C | Good low‑temperature toughness performance. | |
| Peak Melting Temperature | ASTM D3418 | 108‑111 °C | Peak temperature during material melting. | |

Injection‑Molding Process Parameters
| Process Parameters | Recommended Range | Remarks & Interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Drying Treatment | Normally not required | Low‑hygroscopic LDPE for direct usage. Dry at 60‑70 ℃ for 1‑2 h under extremely humid storage condition. |
| Barrel Temperature | 180‑280 °C | Temperature rises from rear zone to front zone. Start debugging at intermediate range 190‑220 °C for this high‑flow grade. |
| Mold Temperature | 20‑40 °C | Low mold temperature shortens cycle time and prevents product deformation. |
| Injection Pressure | Up to 1500 bar | High flowability permits medium‑low injection pressure. Holding pressure approx. 50 % of injection pressure (max.750 bar). |
| Injection Speed | Fast | High‑speed injection improves productivity by taking advantage of high flowability. |
| Runner & Gate | Various types | Multiple runner‑gate structures are available. |
| Back Pressure | 0.5‑1.0 MPa | Low back pressure for melt compaction. |
| Screw Speed | Moderate (50‑100 rpm) | Avoid excessive shear heat accumulation. |
