Performance Parameters

Performance Category Test Item Test Method / Condition Value & Unit Remarks & Interpretation
Basic Properties Density ASTM D‑1505 0.924 g/cm³ Typical density range for LLDPE.
Melt Flow Rate (MFR) ASTM D‑1238 (190°C/2.16kg) 20 g/10min High flowability, well‑suited for injection molding, easy cavity filling, ideal for thin‑wall articles.
Mechanical Properties Tensile Yield Strength ASTM D‑638 12.0 MPa Indicator of tensile‑deformation resistance.
Tensile Strength at Break ASTM D‑638 8.50 MPa Maximum stress the material can bear before fracture.
Elongation at Break ASTM D‑638 450 % Excellent toughness and ductility, resistant to fracture under large deformation.
1% Secant Modulus ASTM D‑638 315 MPa Characterizes material rigidity.
Izod Notched Impact Strength (23°C) ASTM D‑256 540 J/m Good room‑temperature impact resistance.
Hardness (Shore D) ASTM D‑2240 55 Provides certain surface scratch‑resistance.
  ESCR (F50) ASTM D‑1693 (100% Igepal CO‑630) 24.0 h Environmental‑stress‑crack‑resistance; higher value means better performance.
Thermal Properties Vicat Softening Temperature ASTM D‑1525 94.0 °C Heat‑resistance indicator.
Brittleness Temperature ASTM D‑746 <‑75.0 °C Retain toughness under ultra‑low temperature with excellent low‑temperature performance.

Injection‑Molding Process Parameters

Process Parameters Recommended Range Remarks & Interpretation
Drying Treatment Normally not required PE moisture absorption ≤0.01%, drying is generally unnecessary before processing.
Barrel Temperature 160‑220 °C Crystalline polymer; barrel temperature shall be higher than melting point. General LLDPE / LDPE range:140‑200 ℃, lower for rear zone, higher for front zone.
Mold Temperature 30‑60 °C Mold temperature affects crystallization. Higher mold temperature brings higher crystallinity and strength yet larger shrinkage. Typical LDPE mold temperature:30‑45 ℃.
Injection Pressure 50‑100 MPa Low melt viscosity and good flowability permit medium‑to‑low injection pressure. Excessive pressure causes flash. Lower pressure for simple thick‑wall parts; higher pressure for complex parts.
Injection Speed Medium‑high speed High flow realizes fast filling, suitable for thin‑wall products.
Holding Pressure 40%‑60% of injection pressure Avoid excessive holding pressure and long holding time to reduce internal stress.
Back Pressure 0.5‑1.5 MPa Low back pressure for melt compaction; excessive back pressure generates extra shear heat.
Screw Speed Medium speed Prevent excessive shear heat build‑up.
