Blown‑Film Processing
For mainstream blown‑film extrusion, temperature, pressure and other parameters shall be optimized according to equipment, film thickness and performance requirements. General LLDPE blown‑film temperature range: 150‑210 ℃.
Blown‑Film Processing Notes
‑ Shear sensitivity: LLDPE features low shear sensitivity and narrow molecular‑weight distribution, maintains higher viscosity under extrusion shearing, which makes it harder to process than LDPE with identical melt flow rate. ‑ Equipment requirements: Extruder may require higher power, higher melt temperature and pressure. Die gap shall be properly widened to avoid excessive back‑pressure and melt fracture. ‑ Bubble stability: LLDPE blown‑film bubble stability is inferior to LDPE. Dual‑lip air ring is recommended to improve cooling and bubble stability. ‑ Blending for better processability: Many film producers blend LLDPE with LDPE (e.g. 50 % each) to optimize processability and raise output capacity.
