HDPE Yangzi Petrochemical 5000S
HDPE Yangzi Petrochemical 5000S
HDPE Yangzi Petrochemical 5000S is a widely‑used high‑density polyethylene. It is non‑toxic, odorless milky‑white pellets featuring high rigidity, high strength, good chemical resistance and excellent processability. It is especially suitable for wire‑drawing processes to produce various woven products.
Main Applications
Wire‑Drawing & Woven Articles: Mainly used for monofilaments and flat yarns for fishing nets, ropes, woven bags and bulk containers. Its high molecular weight with narrow molecular‑weight distribution, good spinnability and draw‑down performance, balanced linear strength and knot strength deliver high knot strength and outstanding durability for end‑products.
Extruded Products: Pipes, stretch tapes, electrical insulation articles, etc.
Blow‑molded Hollow Containers: For hollow blow‑molded containers.
Injection‑molded Articles: High‑strength, high‑toughness injection‑molded parts such as plastic pails and crates.
Films: Film production.
Industrial & Agricultural Fields: Fibers for industrial filter media and reinforcement materials; agricultural films including greenhouse films, mulch films and irrigation pipes.

Extrusion Wire‑Drawing Processing
For dominant wire‑drawing applications, temperature, pressure and other parameters shall be adjusted and optimized according to equipment, product specifications and performance requirements.
- Processing Temperature: Typical HDPE extrusion temperature: 180‑230 °C. Fine‑tune based on MFR and actual equipment.
- Screw Design: Single‑screw or twin‑screw extruders are commonly adopted.
- Cooling & Drawing: Extruded filaments are cooled and shaped in water bath. Draw ratio and final filament fineness are controlled by traction rollers. Draw ratio is critical for filament strength and molecular orientation.
- Winding: Filaments are finally wound onto bobbins.
Processing Notes (General HDPE Characteristics)
- Melt Strength: 5000S has moderate MFR (0.62‑1.30 g/10min) and good melt strength, ensuring stable extrusion and filament formation.
- Cooling Conditions: Cooling‑water temperature and steady traction speed are critical for crystallinity, strength and surface finish of filaments.
- Raw Material Drying: HDPE has extremely low moisture absorption (<0.01%). Drying at 60‑70 °C for 1‑2 hours is optional under abnormally humid storage conditions as precaution.
