HDPE Qatar Chemical Q50100

HDPE Qatar Chemical Q50100 Resin

Material Introduction: HDPE Qatar Chemical Q50100 is a high‑density polyethylene supplied as non‑toxic, tasteless and odorless milky‑white pellets. It is well‑known for good rigidity, excellent environmental stress‑cracking resistance and outstanding low‑temperature impact strength.

Main Applications

Large‑size industrial containers: 220‑L shipping drums, agro‑chemical containers, gasoline tanks, truck bed liners.

Other blow‑molded articles: formwork panels and large‑size structural parts.

Performance Parameters

Performance Category Test Item Test Method / Condition Value & Unit Remarks & Interpretation
Basic Properties Density ASTM D‑1505 0.948 g/cm³ HDPE grade with high hardness and good rigidity.
Melt Flow Rate (MFR) ASTM D‑1238 (190°C/2.16 kg) 0.06 g/10min Low MFR delivers high melt strength, ideal for blow‑molding to stabilize parison profile.
High‑Load Melt Index (HLMI) ASTM D‑1238 (190°C/21.6 kg) 9‑10 g/10min Flow property under high load; slight deviations exist among different data sources.
Mechanical Properties Tensile Yield Strength ASTM D‑638 (50 mm/min) 26 MPa Resistance capacity against tensile deformation.
Elongation at Break ASTM D‑638 (50 mm/min) >600 % Superb toughness and ductility; withstand heavy deformation without fracture.
Flexural Modulus ASTM D‑790 1170 MPa Indicator of rigidity; higher value represents better bending‑deformation resistance.
Shore D Hardness ASTM D‑2240 62 Provides certain surface scratch‑resistance.
Environmental Stress‑Cracking Resistance (ESCR) Condition A/B, F50, 100% Igepal, ASTM D‑1693 >600 h Extremely excellent ESCR, core advantage for chemical and detergent containers.
Thermal Properties Brittleness Temperature ASTM D‑746 <‑75 °C Outstanding low‑temperature toughness.

Blow‑Molding Processing

For hollow blow‑molding, temperature, pressure and other parameters shall be optimized according to equipment, container volume and performance requirements.

‑ Barrel rear zone temperature:130‑180°C ‑ Barrel front zone temperature:180‑220°C ‑ Die‑head temperature:170‑210°C ‑ Cooling method:in‑mold cooling ‑ Parison control: low melt index (0.06 g/10min) provides high melt strength to prevent parison sagging.

Processing Notes

  1. Melt strength: Low MFR offers good melt strength and keeps parison stable during blow‑molding.
  2. ESCR performance: >600‑hour ESCR enables the material to resist stress cracking under chemical contact, suitable for chemical and detergent packaging.
  3. Shrinkage: HDPE features relatively large and directional shrinkage which may cause warpage. Maintain uniform and stable cooling and reasonable mold‑temperature control.
