HDPE Iran Petrochemical 60507

HDPE Iran Petrochemical 60507 Resin

Material Introduction: HDPE Iran Petrochemical 60507 is an injection‑molding‑grade high‑density polyethylene. It is supplied as non‑toxic, tasteless, odorless milky‑white pellets, featuring high rigidity, good toughness and narrow molecular‑weight distribution.

Main Applications

Packaging boxes & containers: cargo bins, packing cases, plastic crates, turnover boxes.

Daily‑use goods & industrial components: low‑grade household articles, housings and non‑load‑bearing structural parts.

Performance Parameters

Performance Category Test Item Test Method / Condition Value & Unit Remarks & Interpretation
Basic Properties Density ASTM D‑1505 0.958 g/cm³ HDPE grade with high hardness and good rigidity.
Melt Flow Rate (MFR) ASTM D‑1238 (190°C/2.16 kg) 6.5‑8.5 g/10min Good flowability for fast cavity filling in injection molding. Alternative reference value: 7.5 g/10min, data varies from different sources.
Mechanical Properties Tensile Yield Strength ASTM D‑638 ≥30 MPa High value represents good tensile‑deformation resistance.
Tensile Strength at Break ASTM D‑638 13 MPa Maximum stress the material can sustain before fracture.
Elongation at Break ASTM D‑638 350 % Good toughness and ductility, tolerates large deformation without fracture.
Flexural Modulus ASTM D‑790 ≥1500 MPa High modulus indicates strong bending‑deformation resistance. Alternative reference value:1500 MPa.
  Izod Notched Impact Strength (23°C) ASTM D‑256/A ≥36 J/m Room‑temperature impact resistance. Alternative reference value:36 J/m.
Thermal Properties Vicat Softening Point ASTM D‑1525 ≥127 °C Indicator of heat resistance, higher value means better thermal stability. Alternative reference value:127 °C.
Appearance & Cleanliness Colored Particles ≤10 pcs/kg Index for material purity and surface quality; lower value is preferred.

Injection‑Molding Process Parameters

Process Parameters Recommended Range Remarks & Interpretation (General HDPE characteristics)
Drying Treatment Normally not required HDPE has extremely low moisture absorption (≤0.01%). Drying is unnecessary under normal storage. If stored under high‑humidity conditions, dry at 60‑70°C for 1‑2 hours as precaution.
Barrel Temperature 180‑230 °C Crystalline polymer; barrel temperature shall be higher than melting point. Typical target temperature around 220℃; lower value for rear zone, higher value for front zone.
Mold Temperature 50‑70 °C Mold temperature greatly affects crystallization. Higher mold temperature brings higher crystallinity and strength along with larger shrinkage. 10‑20℃ higher than LDPE (LDPE mold temp:30‑45℃).
Injection Pressure 50‑100 MPa Good flowability; use lower pressure except for thin‑wall long‑flow‑path parts. Lower pressure for simple thick‑wall parts; higher pressure for complex parts.
Injection Speed Medium‑high speed High flowability supports rapid cavity filling.
Holding Pressure 40%‑60% of injection pressure Avoid excessive holding pressure and long holding time to reduce internal stress.
Back Pressure 0.5‑1.5 MPa Low back pressure for melt compaction; excessive back pressure generates extra shear heat.
Screw Speed Medium speed Prevent excessive shear‑induced heat accumulation.
