Injection Molding Parameters
| Process Parameter | Reference Range / Recommendation | Remarks & Descriptions |
|---|---|---|
| Drying Treatment | Normally unnecessary; dry at 70‑80°C for 2‑3 hours under improper storage conditions | HIPS has low water absorption; drying is generally not required. Drying is recommended under high‑humidity environment or improper storage. |
| Barrel Temperature | 190‑240°C | Relatively higher injection and molding temperatures are preferred due to rubber‑modified composition. |
| Mold Temperature | 40‑60°C | Higher mold temperature helps reduce internal stress. |
| Injection Pressure | Medium‑to‑high (e.g. 60‑150 MPa, subject to products) | Sufficient holding pressure, holding time and cooling time are required. |
| Injection Speed | Medium speed | Avoid excessive speed causing molding defects. |
| Back Pressure | 0.5‑1.0 MPa | Appropriate back pressure facilitates melt homogenization. |
| Screw Speed | Medium (e.g. 50‑100 rpm) | Avoid excessive screw speed to prevent shear overheating. |
