Injection Molding Parameters

Process Parameter Reference Range / Recommendation Remarks & Descriptions
Drying Treatment Normally unnecessary; dry at 70‑80°C for 2‑3 hours under improper storage conditions HIPS has low water absorption (generally below 0.1 %); drying is normally not required. Drying is recommended under high‑humidity environment or improper storage.
Barrel Temperature 180‑220°C (or 190‑240°C) Due to rubber component, relatively higher injection and molding temperature are preferred. Reference barrel setting: rear zone 190°C, middle zone 200°C, front zone 205°C, nozzle 210°C.
Mold Temperature 20‑70°C (or 40‑60°C) Higher mold temperature helps reduce internal stress and contributes to high‑gloss performance.
Injection Pressure Medium‑to‑high Sufficient holding pressure, holding time and cooling time are required. Holding pressure is normally 90 % of injection pressure.
