PBT BASF B4500 is semi‑crystalline thermoplastic saturated polyester, noted for high stiffness, strength, very low water absorption and good high‑temperature dimensional stability.

Main Applications

Electrical & electronics: connectors, small switches, capacitor housings, relays, coil bobbins, insulating sleeves; excellent electrical insulation and dimensional stability.

Automotive industry: automotive‑electronic parts, exterior door handles, fuel‑system components, wind‑wiper arms, head‑lamp structures; good heat‑resistance, friction‑resistance and chemical‑resistance.

Industrial manufacturing:

  • Piping systems: fluid‑transfer pipes for industrial & building fields, good corrosion resistance & dimensional stability.
  • Profiles & films: extruded thin‑wall profiles, pipes, cast films for packaging and other industrial uses.
  • Food‑contact & medical packaging: food‑contact variant B4500 FC for sterile‑packaging films for medical devices, hot‑fill containers.
