POE Dow‑DuPont 8842

POE Dow‑DuPont 8842

POE Dow‑DuPont 8842 is an ultra‑low‑density, high‑elasticity ethylene‑octene copolymer manufactured by Dow‑DuPont with metallocene catalyst technology. It is well‑received for its excellent flow characteristics and outstanding impact‑modifying performance, especially for improving low‑temperature toughness and processing flowability of finished articles.

Main Applications

Primarily used for thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) applications, especially in fields requiring favorable low‑temperature impact resistance. Suitable for injection‑molded industrial and consumer durable goods. It is also applied in the wire‑and‑cable industry.

Processing Parameters

Suitable for multiple processing methods including injection molding, extrusion and foaming.

Drying Treatment: Drying may be required if the package is damaged and the material is exposed to air. Typical drying condition is 70‑80 °C for 2‑3 hours. Please verify according to actual material status.

Injection Molding: Melt Temperature: Set above the melting temperature (approx. 35‑38 °C). The exact range shall be determined by product structure and dimensions, commonly explored within 160‑220 °C. Mold Temperature: Generally set at 20‑60 °C, subject to requirements for product surface appearance and crystallinity.

Extrusion: Recommended processing temperature range: 150‑200 °C, depending on screw design and residence time.

Blending Modification: For blending with PP or PE, pre‑blending of POE and base resin is recommended to achieve uniform dispersion.
