POE Dow‑DuPont 8150

POE Dow‑DuPont 8150

POE Dow‑DuPont 8150 is a low‑density elastomer with good compatibility with polyolefins. It is especially suitable for applications requiring improved material toughness and processing flowability, particularly in PP toughening and wire‑and‑cable sectors.

Main Applications

Polymer Modification: Mainly used for toughening polypropylene (PP). It is applied to automotive components such as bumpers, fenders and steering wheels. It is also used for home appliances, sporting goods and toys.

Wires and Cables: Applicable for insulation layers and sheaths requiring high heat resistance and environmental resistance.

General‑purpose Products: Also used in industrial articles such as rubber hoses and conveyor belts, as well as molded products and medical devices.

Processing Methods

ENGAGE™ 8150 POE is suitable for multiple processing methods including injection molding and extrusion.

Blending Modification: When used for impact modification of PP and PE, POE 8150 may eliminate complicated granulation or pre‑mixing procedures compared with conventional EPDM, and delivers better mixing and dispersion performance. Its excellent flow characteristics also contribute to improved filler dispersion.

Cross‑linking: Peroxides, silanes or irradiation can be adopted for effective cross‑linking to enhance heat‑aging resistance and compression set.

Wire‑and‑Cable Processing: Thanks to its outstanding electrical properties and weather resistance, it can be easily processed in wire‑and‑cable manufacturing and blends well with other materials.
