POE  Mitsui Chemicals DF840

POE Mitsui Chemicals DF840

POE Mitsui DF840 is a highly‑transparent, food‑grade polyolefin elastomer with excellent toughening performance and process flowability. It is suitable for applications requiring improved toughness, transparency and food‑contact compliance, especially for plastic modification and high‑end packaging.

Main Applications

Plastic Modification: Mainly used for toughening PP and PE for automotive bumpers, instrument panels and other parts. Packaging Materials: Food‑packaging films, low‑temperature heat‑seal films and peelable films. Wire & Cable: Insulation layers and sheaths, ideal for low‑smoke zero‑halogen flame‑retardant compounds. Sports Goods: Midsoles and outsoles for sports shoes. General Articles: Hoses, conveyor belts, home‑appliance parts, stationery and toys.

Processing Guidelines

  • Suitable for injection molding and extrusion.
  • No compounding or vulcanization required; process with standard thermoplastic equipment. Slightly higher processing temperature & pressure are recommended; supports high‑speed processing.
  • Blending recommendation: For PP/PE toughening, POE loading ≤20 %. Higher POE content improves impact and elongation but reduces tensile & flexural strength and modulus.
  • MFR of blend rises with POE addition; MFR barely changes above 15 phr POE.
  • Additives: Antioxidants, softeners, fillers and colorants may be added as required. Sprues & scraps are recyclable; recycle fraction ≤30 % is recommended。
