PBT (Polybutylene Terephthalate)

 As one of the five major general‑purpose engineering plastics, PBT features fast crystallization rate and excellent flowability, high mechanical strength, outstanding chemical resistance, favorable electrical performance and low water absorption (<0.1 %). Nevertheless, it suffers from low notched‑impact strength and achieves only UL94 HB flame‑retardant rating; modifications are required for high‑end applications.

Medical‑Grade Modification Medical‑grade PBT resin is mainly developed for high‑precision components such as insulin delivery pens, insulin pumps, auto‑injectors and continuous glucose monitoring devices. It delivers high resistance to various chemicals, mitigates environmental‑stress cracking, and is compatible with ethylene‑oxide, gamma‑ray and steam sterilization. It serves as a formaldehyde‑free alternative to POM (polyoxymethylene).
