HDPE (High‑Density Polyethylene)

HDPE features higher rigidity, tensile strength and hardness compared with general polyethylene and good mechanical strength. It combines good heat‑resistance and cold‑resistance with service temperature up to around 100 °C. Chemically, it resists corrosion by acids, alkalis and various salts and is barely dissolved by organic solvents at room temperature. It also has excellent electrical insulation, zero moisture absorption and good water‑vapor barrier performance. However, its ageing resistance and environmental‑stress‑cracking resistance are relatively limited. It is prone to degradation under sunlight or high‑temperature exposure, and its surface gloss is inferior to polypropylene (PP).

Main Applications

Blow molding: Mass‑produced hollow containers such as shampoo bottles, pharmaceutical bottles, oil drums, cosmetic bottles, large‑size automotive fuel tanks and chemical storage tanks.

Injection molding: Turnover boxes, waste bins, pallets, daily‑use plastic articles and thin‑wall packaging containers.

Extrusion molding: Water‑supply pipes, gas pipes, drainage pipes and insulating sheaths for wires and cables.

Film & blow‑film processing: Packaging films for shopping bags, grocery bags and food‑packaging films. Such films have low permeability to water vapor and air with favourable moisture‑proof performance.
