PA1010 (Polyamide 1010)

PA1010 is a high‑performance long‑chain polyamide. It features low water absorption to maintain excellent dimensional stability and mechanical properties under humid conditions, coupled with relatively low density of 1.03‑1.05 g/cm³. It delivers outstanding wear resistance and self‑lubricity at low friction coefficient, together with relatively high mechanical strength and good toughness, especially remarkable low‑temperature toughness with brittleness temperature down to −60 °C. It is oil‑resistant, chemical‑resistant and non‑toxic, and shows good stability against mildew and light exposure. However, long‑term exposure to oxygen above 100 °C will cause gradual yellowing and strength decline; thermal‑oxidative degradation shall be prevented during melt processing.

Main Applications

Automotive & transportation: widely used for automotive piping systems including brake hoses, fuel tubes, corrugated pipes, quick‑connect fittings and air‑conditioner hoses. It is also applied for housings of ABS‑system sensors. It serves as an alternative to PA11 in aerospace and ship‑building industries.

Industrial machinery & components: wear‑resistant transmission parts such as bearings, gears and pulleys, as well as machine parts for textile and printing‑dyeing industries.

Wire, cable & coating: suitable for sheaths of electric wires, cables and optical fibers; also used as surface‑coating layers for metals and ropes.

Food packaging: cast‑extruded into high‑transparent films with high thermal stability (approx. 340 °C), balanced mechanical performance, high barrier to moisture and aroma, and oxygen‑barrier performance barely affected by humidity. Such films are used for meat and other food preservation to extend shelf life.

Other industrial sectors: precision parts for electrical‑electronics, instruments and medical‑device applications.
